Photography terms

PHOTOGRAPHY TERMS

The following general terms apply to all photography services unless otherwise agreed in writing with the client. The client accepts these terms by booking the photoshoot.

1. Service, price and delivery

The price and scope of the photography service are determined according to the current price list or any separate agreement between the parties.

Photos will be delivered electronically within 5–10 business days after the shoot.

2. Copyright and usage rights

All copyrights remain with the photographer. The photographer has the right to use the images for their own marketing and portfolio purposes (e.g., website, social media, competitions) unless otherwise agreed with the client. The photographer respects the client’s privacy and exercises discretion when publishing images.

The client receives usage rights for their purchased images for non-commercial use, including:

  • Social media (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)

  • Website and blog

  • Newsletters and brochures

  • Non-commercial publications

Any commercial use, sale, or sharing of images with third parties requires the photographer’s written consent.

If images are intended for commercial media or a commercial publication, the publisher must contact the photographer to arrange usage rights.

RAW files are not provided. Final images are delivered in JPG format.

3. Image editing, selection and style

The client has reviewed the photographer’s previous work and understands that the shoot and post-processing are artistic processes. The final style may differ from previous images due to conditions or artistic discretion.

  • Basic editing is included (exposure, contrast, color, cropping, and removal of small distractions)

  • Extensive manipulation is not included in the service

  • The photographer selects which images are delivered based on technical and artistic quality

  • The client does not have the right to see all captured images

The photographer is responsible for secure backup of the images for 6 months. After that, there is no obligation to retain them.

4. Client responsibility

The client agrees to provide a safe and cooperative environment during the shoot. If instructions or conditions are not followed, the photographer is not responsible for the outcome of the images.

5. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes are primarily resolved through negotiation.

If necessary, consumer clients may contact the Consumer Advisory Service or the Consumer Disputes Board.
